Skylars First Dance Recital

Tuesday night was Sky's first dance recital and it was a blast!! I loved doing her hair and make up, it reminded me of growing up when my mom would do the same for me and my dance recitals. Sky is such a girlie girl and loved all the pampering!! Poor Kylie wasn't feeling that great so we didn't get any sister pictures but when Sky was on stage Kylie loved it.
When i first dropped Sky off with the teachers she was a little nervous to be all alone, but they played games, watched princess movies and had treats. After the dance was over she said she had a blast.
I didn't get any pictures of the actual dance, i had to steal this from my friend! We did video tape it, and if i can figure out how to put it on here i will do that later. Sky is all the way on the left, the one looking at her feet! She did that for the first half of the dance. I think she was trying to find her sticker, which marks her place. It was hilarious and cute. We video taped the dance and watched it that night and she did her dance along with it. So at least she new it right? Dang those stickers. We gave Sky this flower after and she wouldn't put it down. She was beaming and sooo happy and loved all the attention.
Im very proud of this little girl. It was a very crowded auditorium and she did great! I love her very much. It was very fun to start this new stage of her life. Its still crazy to me that she is old enough to do this. Im just glad she loves it so much. Kylie can't wait to join her sister either, she copies everything Sky does, and will do her dance right along with her. So cute.

"Oh Christmas Tree"

I have a reason for the title of this post give me just a minute to explain. We chose this day to get our tree......It snowed all day and we didn't have our tree yet so of course we had to change that!
The reason for the title...every time Sky would put on an ornament she would start singing "Oh Christmas Tree". She sang it kind of quiet at first and it took me a minute to realize what she was saying. It was the cutest thing ever. Mark was here too and we turned down the Christmas movie we were watching as we decorated and just listened to our Sky set the mood. She did sing other Christmas classics as well.
Its going to be quite the challenge keeping the little ones away from the pretty decorations, they LOVE it and just stare at it in awe.
The finished product! I will get better pics later. Our house is all about Christmas though, movies or music are playing all the time and the lights are lit about just as much. The tree smells SOOOOOO good i love it. Once some of the snow melts we will get our lights outside finished up too. Merry Christmas everyone!!

Happy Birthday Mark!!

Yesterday was my favorite persons birthday, My Mark. It was a really nice day. Mark and i went out on Saturday night to celebrate. We went to Brickoven (one of his favorites) and than to "The Blind Side". We both LOVED that movie by the way, it was SOOOO good and you left feeling good. It was the best movie i have seen in a long time! Last night we had family over for cake and ice cream which was nice.
I love this man very much, and happen to think he is the best one i know! He makes one fantastic Dad, the girls can't get enough of him! He is kind and extremely giving. He will do anything for anyone. I asked Sky what she loves about her Daddy, she said "I asked him to get me an orange and he did" ha ha she cracks me up. Everyday when Mark gets home from work she hides from him and he has to find her. Kylie just adores her daddy and loves to cuddle him (especially at 6 in the morning when she sneaks into our room). Thanks for being the best Husband and Dad and we hope you had a very happy 32nd birthday!!! XOXO

Curler fun :)

The girls have cute matching Christmas dresses thanks to Grandma Roylance! They looked so cute and LOVED matching each other. Sky would not take a normal picture, this was the best of the bunch.
My little girls have been "blessed" with my hair. Fine hair and lots of it. It gets better with age. But at their age its very hard to tame. It gets staticky (not really sure how to spell that, or if its even a word he he) really easy and loses any curl i put into it extremely fast. Kylie has some natural curl in hers that i love, its mostly just the ends but im glad she has something! Sky on the other hand, well its taken me time and patience to figure it out. My cousins little girl has the same type of hair and she told me about these curlers that work like a charm!! I put them in right when i took her out of the tub. She tried to go to bed but couldn't sleep with them. I was so bummed because i thought that 2 hours would not last at all. But when i took them out they looked like this....I was SHOCKED! And so excited. I now know that i can put them in in the morning for about 2-3 hours and her hair will turn out! They were still somewhat in tact when she woke up in the morning so i just pulled back part of her hair and did a little touch up with a curling iron for pictures later that day. This was the final of the back. And it stayed in all day and the next day for church just did a little again. Thanks Andrea you are a lifesaver!!

Boys night out = girls night in

Mark had boys night out last night...which meant a girls night in! Sky was excited and demanded a pajama party. So we got our jammies on and frosted the sugar cookies we made earlier that day.
Sky picked out the color of the frosting of course :)
We didn't do anything too exciting but it was a blast to just hang out with my girls! We cuddled up on the couch and watched Happy Feet. I know how scary i look in these pics, believe me :( but had to get some with my little girlies!

Unfortunately Kylie inherited my clumsiness and had an accident this week and landed on her poor little nose. It looks worse than it was, poor little girl!!

I honestly feel like i have the best job. No doubt the HARDEST job i have ever had, but also the most rewarding. I get to hang out with these little girls all day long. Even though i have laundry piled so high you wouldn't believe, and my house looks like a tornado has gone through it, and right now my girls are screaming and fighting, i wouldn't trade it for ANYTHING! I love it. The hard days really help me to appreciate the good days. I have NO clue how i am going to handle 3 kids under 4 but i am so excited for the new adventure. My girls are SOOO excited for the new baby, especially Sky. She will be the best little helper. She already talks and sings to my tummy on a daily basis. I think i will have to watch Kylie a little closer with the baby, she is a little more playful if you will :) but i think she will be full of loves and cuddles too for the new one. i have just over 6 months to prepare her. [right now she is carrying her baby doll around in her mouth...maybe i should be a little nervous :) ]

Our Thanksgiving(s)

Im not going to lie, i was very nervous for Thanksgiving this year. I haven't been feeling great for one and a day centered around food....well that made me SOOOO nervous! But the day ended up great. Sadly Mark had to work this Thanksgiving so it was the girls and i. We spent the day with the Roylance and Jensen family. The house was beautiful, its where Mark and I had our reception and I LOVED that they had already done some Christmas decorating. The best part for the girls was the little playroom and dress-ups. Sky found this brown wig, i always wondered what she would look like with dark hair!! It was so cute, the dresses and jewelry kept the girls busy. I had a surprisingly GREAT day, i was somewhat sick but managed it pretty good and even enjoyed some food!! Woo hoo!! I wish i would have taken more pictures but i forgot! Sky also helped to make a ginger bread house and played with her cousins. She had a great time and still talks about it today. We took a plate, or i should say 3 plates, of food to Mark at work so that he could have some yummy food too. We missed him!! Friday night we took the girls to dinner and than to see the lights in Spanish Fork since their cousins were visiting that live in Idaho. We are so ready for this season the girls really liked the lights.
On Saturday we had our second Thanksgiving with my family, the WHOLE Smith side, well almost all of them. A few couldn't make it. But it was great to see the ones that did. It was A LOT of people AND little kids. My girls had a blast playing with all their second cousins and seeing their Great Grandma and Grandpa Smith. My cousin Andrea was daring and let everyone go to her house and she did a GREAT job hosting! Thanks!!
So after this CRAZY week it took a few days to recoup, but it was worth it! We all enjoyed it.

Lots to catch up on!

We have had quite the busy couple of weeks...plus i have been a slacker when it comes to blogging...oops!! :) First of all we have been SOOOO excited for Christmas at our house. I love everything about the holidays. I started decorating the week before Thanksgiving, just a few things here and there. But one of the traditions i started with my girls is they have their own little tree they decorate and play with. I took Sky to the store and she picked out some little ornaments that were pink and purple of course and the girls decorated their tree. Most of them ended up in the same area of the tree, but not to worry they have taken them on and off again a hundred times already!! Im just hoping that once we get our real tree in they will leave it alone! Ill let you know about that once it happens :)

Align CenterSky is very proud of her tree and both girls play with it all the time.

We are really excited for it to snow, and we keep waiting and waiting for it to come to our house. I am NOT a huge fan of it usually to be completely honest, but when you have kids i think it makes it a lot more fun! They just love it! So we took a little drive up the mountains and found some.

We didn't take the warmest clothes so they couldn't play long, but they LOVED it and didn't complain about being cold at all. They ran away from the car when it was time to go.I know i may regret this later in winter, but for now we say bring on the snow!!!
